BioCorRx, Inc. Announces Availability of its Start Fresh Program for Treating Addiction in Chicago, Illinois and an Update on Atlanta Opening

Los Angeles, Aug. 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --  BioCorRx, Inc. (BICX), developer of the Start Fresh Program, announces expansion into Illinois with the opening of a Start Fresh Recovery clinic in the Chicago area by Dr. George Fallieras.  BioCorRx, Inc. has a distribution agreement with Dr. Fallieras, Medical Director of Start Fresh Recovery, who currently operates clinics in three other locations.  He has appeared on the Emmy Award-winning show The Doctors, and countless other local media outlets to discuss the Start Fresh Program.  "We are pleased that Dr. Fallieras is continuing the expansion of the Start Fresh Program into an area that is in desperate need of resources to combat the wave of addiction that has swept through the city in recent years," stated CEO Kent Emry. The clinic is located at 8707 Skokie Blvd, Suite 308, Skokie, Illinois 60077 and is ready to begin initial patient consultations now.

It was previously announced that a Start Fresh Recovery clinic would be opening in Atlanta in June, but it was delayed due to leasing issues. The location has been moved to 3193 Howell Mill Road, Suite 104, Atlanta, GA 30327 and is now planned to be open around the second week of September. Dr. Fallieras will also be the owner and medical director of the Atlanta center.

Entering into the Chicago market is another sensible move for BioCorRx, Inc., especially considering the program's expansion into treating opiate addiction.  Heroin use is at historic highs in Chicago and surrounding suburbs.  Users come from all age groups as well as all walks of life, with the largest group of new users being teens and young adults.  Due to a dramatic increase in production in Mexico and the prevalence of street gangs selling the drug, Chicago is considered a hub for cheap, pure heroin.  The epidemic of hard drug abuse around Chicago can in part be contributed to the increase in painkiller abuse in recent years.   A federal survey found that four out of five new heroin users (approximately 79.5%) had previously abused painkillers.  Many addicts quickly progress to heroin because they can achieve a more powerful high for much less money.   This type of serious addiction is causing Chicago families to crumble, while overwhelming healthcare and social services.  The Start Fresh Program can offer a powerful new tool to those combatting addiction, and give the parents of this expanding group of addicted young adults new hope.

The state of Illinois has an estimated population of nearly 13 million people, 8-10 million of which reside in the Chicago Metropolitan Area.  "The Start Fresh Program will have significant positive impact around Chicago where many new addicts are young adults.  These individuals and their families will now have access to the tools offered by Start Fresh to get on the road to recovery before heroin use spirals out of control," says Emry.  "Dr. Fallieras has continually upheld the Start Fresh brand while broadening BioCorRx, Inc.'s revenue stream and we are pleased for the opportunity to work with him through yet another clinic".
